There is (or rather, there was) a caste system on Nauru. These are the classes, in hierarchical order:
1. Temonibe = Big landowners and chiefly
2. 'Mo = Powerful and chiefly
3. amenengame = smaller land owners
4. engame = Normal people
5. Itsio = enslaved
6. Itiora = war prisoners, unfree
